Fuji X-Series Cameras

Sometime in 2015 I think it was, my Nikon D3 was starting to show it’s age, as were some of my lenses that had been used and abused for a number of years. I was also a bit burned out on photography due to working in a quantity focused e-commerce studio. So it was time for a new camera, and possibly a new system. I was looking for something with a good sensor, but that was also more portable and easier to bring around with me than the boat anchor D3 was. I felt like I needed to have the camera with me more often, to re-ignite my creativity and to be able to capture those little moments in every day life that originally ignited my passion for photography.

Fuji had just released the X-Pro 1, a rangefinder style mirrorless camera that has simple, old school mechanical controls, and is small and lightweight enough that it is easy to carry around. That camera has served me very well and continues to do so, but that 16mp crop sensor is starting to show it’s age. Lucky for me, Robert Trawick had one of the new 3rd gen X-Pro3 at our St. Louis workshop that he let me play with. Check out the video below for some of my thoughts! If you are interested in an X-Pro 3 for your own kit, or need some more of the beautiful X Series lenses, be sure to use our friends at Adorama!
