Member Showcase - Martin Howard
Martin Howard and I have been following each other on social media for a long time! I’m always super impressed with the fact that he gets such gorgeous pictures and he’s based in Mississippi! This totally goes against the adage that you have to be based in a fashion capital in order to take great fashion pics! Martin proves this theory wrong by shooting some of the prettiest girls I’ve seen! In fact, I even wrote him a private message a year ago and said something to the effect, “what are they putting in the water down there, every girl is drop-dead gorgeous!” When we put up the Dallas Workshop, Martin signed up and took advantage of his Lifetime Membership status to get $250 off the normal price and we couldn’t be more thrilled to finally meet!
Martin wrote: “I am a portrait and fashion photographer in Madison, Mississippi. My "real job" is practicing medicine but my passion is shooting fashion images that bring out the power and grace in women. My best days are a collaboration with a skilled stylist, a great hair/makeup artist, and an enthusiastic model. That's when the magic happens. I am a child of the 70's and my biggest influences are the classic looks of Richard Avedon, Peter Lindbergh, Helmut Newton, and, of course, Melissa Rodwell. My music is old school rock and roll - Fleetwood Mac, Van Halen, Tina Turner- and I strive for images that are new but at the same time pay homage to the greatness of the past. So much going on today is a fad or quickly forgotten style of the minute, but the classics endure for a reason. That is what drew me to join the Breed (for life!). And, as you can see, I do love black and white.”
